Remote, not difficult.
The house is far enough to be quiet and close enough to be easy. Here is every route in, what the last stretch is like, and what you will find within a short drive.

The nearest international airport is a two-hour drive. Car hire at the terminal, one road most of the way.

The valley station is served from the main line with one change. We collect you there, or arrange a transfer.

One of us meets you at the door, walks you through the house, and leaves you to it.
Check-in from 4 pm
Precise directions, the gate code and a pin travel with your booking confirmation. If you would rather not drive the last part, ask us about a transfer.
The last kilometre
One road, kept clear.
The final approach is a single mountain road. It is gritted and cleared through the winter, and in twelve years we have never had a guest turned back by snow — but a car with winter tyres is the difference between arriving and arriving relaxed.
The last stretch is our own track. It is short, it is steep in one place, and there is parking for two cars at the door.
- Winter tyres — required by law in the region from November to April.
- Snow chains — in the boot room, yours to borrow.
- Arriving after dark — tell us and we will light the track.

On the day
How arrival works.
- What time can we arrive?
- Check-in is from 4 pm, and check-out by 11 am. If your train or flight lands awkwardly, say so when you book — we would rather move the hour than have you waiting in a car park.
- Will someone be there?
- Always. One of us meets you at the door, walks you through the house and the woodshed, and then leaves you to it. There is no key box and no self check-in.
- Should we shop before we come up?
- A welcome basket from the valley is waiting for you, and the village grocer is a short drive. Most guests do one shop on the way up and then never move the car again.
- Is there mobile signal?
- Patchy outside, fast Wi-Fi inside. Emergency calls work everywhere on the property.
